What exactly is methyltestosterone?

Methyltestosterone is a synthetic version of testosterone, which is a naturally occurring sex hormone generated in a man's testicles. A woman's ovaries and adrenal system also create small quantities of testosterone.

Methyltestosterone is used to treat diseases caused by a shortage of this hormone in men and boys, such as delayed puberty or other hormonal abnormalities. In addition, methyltestosterone is used to treat breast cancer that has progressed to other regions of the body in women.

Effects of Methyltestosterone

If you develop any of the following symptoms of an allergic reaction, get immediate medical attention: hives; trouble breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or neck.

Methyltestosterone has the potential to induce major adverse effects. If you develop any of the following symptoms, contact your doctor right away:

Skin color changes;
increased or continuous penile erection;
breathlessness (even with little exercise);
or edema, fast weight gain

Nausea, upper stomach discomfort, itching, tiredness, lack of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored feces, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) are all symptoms of liver disorders.

Women who use methyltestosterone may acquire masculine features that are permanent if therapy is prolonged. If you experience any of the following indications of high testosterone, stop taking methyltestosterone and contact your doctor right away:
